Make a short parent feedback form and a blank sheet for your own tally of the answers (England, childminders)
The problem
Childminders type “childminder parent questionnaire template” and “childminder feedback form template” into search, and a short form handed out once or twice a year is an easy way to hear what parents think. The risk is in the answers: parents’ comments can name a child, describe a concern or be a complaint, so none of that goes into an AI tool. AI lays out the blank form from topics you choose, and a blank tally sheet; you count the ticks yourself, read the comments yourself, and decide what you will do. Ofsted’s own guide for inspectors says they may speak to parents, in a childminder setting by phone, and says nothing about asking to see a form, so the form is for your own use and is not a substitute for how parents can raise a concern or complain.
What AI does
AI lays out a short, neutral parent feedback form from your own topics, and a blank sheet for you to tally the answers. You count the replies and read each comment personally; any concern about a child is never an AI task (England, childminders).
Time
The steps, in short
- Choose a handful of topics to ask parents about.
- Have AI lay out a blank form and tally sheet from your topics.
- Check the form asks nothing about any child and doesn't lead parents.
- Count the answers and read the comments yourself, then decide what to change.
