Lay out a blank CPD log for your scheme’s yearly requirement, for you to fill in each activity yourself
The problem
The scheme rules say you must keep a record of your continuing professional development and make it available to your scheme each year, schemes sample members’ records at random, and failing to submit it is a disciplinary matter that leads to suspension. One commenter on a 2025 LinkedIn post says missing the yearly CPD hours stops you banking jobs. The scheme sets the actual requirement, and EASOB’s minimum is 10 hours a year per strand, with at least half certified. A log with one row per activity, a column for the certificate and a running total column means the record is ready when asked. The AI lays out the blank sheet. It never invents, suggests or completes an activity, never adds up your hours, and never tells you how many you need: you type each entry and your spreadsheet adds the total.
What AI does
AI sets out an empty record of your CPD for your own spreadsheet. You enter each activity and the hours yourself, and compare your totals with what your scheme has told you it requires (England).
Time
The steps, in short
- Find your scheme's written CPD requirement and your membership year dates.
- Have AI lay out a blank log with the headings you choose.
- Record each activity as you complete it and file the certificate.
- Add up the hours yourself and check them against what your scheme asks, well before renewal.
A short sample prompt
I assess homes for energy certificates in England. Lay out an empty CPD record for my spreadsheet with these columns: [your column headings], plus a header for my scheme and membership dates. Leave every entry for me.
