Quote by the room with clear inclusions
Customers compare plastering quotes on price alone unless you show exactly what's included. Listing for each room what is included, what is not, what the customer must do first and your own drying advice makes your quote easy to compare and cuts arguments later.
Steps
- Note each room: walls and ceilings, condition, whether boarding, overboarding or beads are needed, access, and anything to be removed first.
- Price each room from your own rates, and decide what is included (protection, beads, cleaning up) and what is not (moving furniture, painting, moving sockets or switches).
- Example (made up, for illustration only): a quote for a lounge lists the ceiling overboarded and skimmed, four walls skimmed and two new angle beads, each with its price. It says furniture must be moved out first and any sockets moved by an electrician beforehand, and gives the plasterer’s own advice on drying before painting.
- Run the prompt below with your prices.
- Work out the total yourself, say whether VAT is included, and add how long the quote is valid.
- Send it with your available dates, and keep a copy with the job.
