Make a question list and a one-page fact sheet for your accountant and solicitor on tax, tenancy and succession
The problem
The webinar write-up says diversification may change whether assets qualify for agricultural property relief and the capital gains position, and the solicitor on the panel raised covenants, tenants' consent from their landlord and employment contracts. HMRC changed its Agricultural Relief page on 6 April 2026, so what the 2021 article says may be out of date. The useful work is arriving at the meeting with the facts and the right questions. AI can turn your own typed facts into a one-page fact sheet and a question list. It cannot say what the relief or the tax is, or what a tenancy or covenant allows: the accountant and the solicitor do that.
What AI does
AI turns your own facts about ownership, the business and the new enterprise into a single page of facts and the questions to raise with your accountant and solicitor. It does not say how any tax, relief, tenancy or covenant applies.
Time
The steps, in short
- Write down who owns and farms what, and how the business is set up.
- Note any tenancy, covenant or consent issues you know of.
- Write the questions you want answered.
- Have AI tidy them into a fact sheet, then check it and add names by hand.
A short sample prompt
Turn my notes into a single page of facts plus numbered questions for a meeting with my accountant and solicitor about a new [enterprise] on the farm. Don't state any tax or legal rules. Notes: [facts, no names]
