Compare your own commission disclosure wording with the FCA’s CONC text and list the differences for your principal or compliance adviser
The problem
The FCA Handbook requires a credit broker to disclose commission prominently and in good time before the agreement, to say how it may affect what the customer pays, and to give the amount if the customer asks. If your wording is vague, for example saying commission is "a percentage of the loan borrowed or a fixed amount", the FCA itself says that kind of phrase is ambiguous. AI can set your own wording beside the rule text and list where they differ, so that your principal or compliance adviser can review the differences. It cannot say what wording is compliant or whether your process meets the rules: that is for your adviser.
What AI does
AI puts your own commission disclosure wording side by side with the FCA rule text you copy, and lists the differences, which your principal or compliance adviser then reviews. It does not say what wording is compliant.
Time
The steps, in short
- Confirm with your adviser that the FCA credit broking rules apply to you.
- Collect your disclosure wording from every place a customer sees or hears it.
- Copy the rule text from the FCA Handbook, unchanged.
- Have AI compare the two, then pass the result to your adviser to decide.
A short sample prompt
Put my wording and the rule text below side by side in a table. For each rule point, show which of my words relate to it and note any point my wording doesn't mention. Do not judge compliance. My wording: [text] Rules: [text]
