Follow up enquiries that go quiet after you send your prices
Ghosting after the first reply is the most common complaint from wedding and portrait photographers. Two short, human follow-ups bring back a fair share of them.
Steps
- Note what you usually send first (prices, a brochure, a call link).
- Run the prompt below for a day-3 nudge and a day-10 final email.
- Save them as templates. Add one personal line each time (their venue, date or idea).
- After the final email, stop. Mark the enquiry closed.
The exact prompt
Write two follow-up emails from a [UK] [wedding / family / brand] photographer to an enquiry that went quiet after I sent [my prices / brochure].
1. Day 3 (under 80 words): a light check-in with one easy question to reply to, e.g. "Is [date] still the plan?", plus an offer of a quick call.
2. Day 10 (under 70 words): a friendly last note, no hard feelings, the door's open.
No fake urgency ("only one date left!" unless true), no guilt. Leave [NAME], [DATE] and [PERSONAL LINE] placeholders. Warm [British] English.✓ Check before you send
- Any "date filling up" line is true.
- Two follow-ups at most.
- Each one has a real personal line.
