Write 10 titles, hooks and thumbnail texts to test
Titles and thumbnails decide whether anyone watches. Generating options fast lets you pick the strongest instead of the first.
Steps
- Write one sentence on what the video delivers and who it's for.
- Paste the prompt below.
- Shortlist 3 titles and 3 thumbnail texts. Read them as a viewer: would you click, and does the video deliver it?
- If your channel has A/B Testing, click it under the Title box or Thumbnail in desktop Studio, add up to three options, and YouTube shows the one with the highest watch time once the test ends.
The exact prompt
My video: [one sentence on what it delivers]. Audience: [who]. Niche: [niche]. Write: - 10 titles under 60 characters, in a mix of styles (curiosity, outcome, number, challenge, mistake). No all-caps, no false claims. - 10 thumbnail texts of 4 words or fewer that ADD to the title rather than repeat it. - 5 spoken hooks for the first 5 seconds. Then pick your top 3 title + thumbnail pairs and say why. Everything must be honestly delivered by the video.
✓ Check before you send
- The video genuinely delivers what the title promises.
- No misleading claims about results, money or health.
- It sounds like your channel, not generic YouTube.
