Quote a custom cake order clearly
Custom cakes go wrong on unclear details. A written quote with every detail confirmed saves tears on the day. Putting servings, design, date, allergens, deposit and cancellation in one quote gives you and the customer the same record.
Steps
- Note everything the customer asked for: occasion, servings, tiers, flavours, fillings, design notes, date, and collection or delivery.
- Ask about allergies and dietary needs, and take the allergen information for each part of the cake from your own recipes and ingredient labels.
- Example (made up, for illustration only): a 40th birthday order is for 30 servings, two tiers, lemon and vanilla, a gold drip and a topper supplied by the customer, collected at 10am on Saturday. The quote lists each item and price, the deposit and balance date, the cancellation terms, and the allergens from the recipe.
- Add your prices and run the prompt below. Leave the customer’s name and any health details out of the AI tool.
- Check the allergen line against your recipes and labels yourself; the AI tool must not decide what a cake contains.
- Ask the customer to confirm in writing before you take the deposit.
